NY Giants Keys to Success Against Colts

The time is coming, only four more days until the opening Sunday of the NFL season. The season actually starts on Thursday, but with the injury to Ben Roethlisberger, that matchup is far from intriguing. With a healthy Roethlisberger, I would say that this game would be in the bag for the Steelers, but I can't say I have much confidence in Charlie Batch. I'm not buying all of the hype about the Dolphins just yet, but this is a good game to make a statement, especially considering their playing against a poor QB in Batch. Anyway, back to the Giants: the team that matters the most. The "Manning Bowl" has finally arrived, in what looks to be the most hyped, regular season game, in recent history. Let's take a look at what the Giants have to do, in order to defeat the Super Bowl favorite, Indianapolis Colts.

1. Establish the running game early and often.

The Giants must get Tiki Barber and Brandon Jacobs involved in the offense, immediately from the onset. With a mediocre and injured Luke Pettiguit blocking Eli's blind side, it's important that the Giants don't allow Dwight Freeney and company to tee up on Eli. If the Giants have a successful running game going, there is no way that the Colts will be able to cover all of our weapons down the field. Remember, Tiki was by far the MVP of this team last year. Let's get him the ball and go from there.

No stupid penalties, on either side of the ball.

Last season, there were numerous drives killed by bonehead penalties on both sides of the ball, most notably on the offensive line. Luke Pettiguit needs to stay onside, and if he doesn't, I'd like to see Coughlin immediately bench him and put in Whitfield. Bob Whitfield may only have one working eye, but at least the guy can stay on side. I'm sick of the excuses about stadiums being loud and it being difficult for these players to hear the cadence from the QB. Luke Pettiguit, and many of his teammates, played in stadiums with over a hundred thousand people in them. Also, they go offside at home, as well as away. This game is going to be tough enough to win if we play a brilliant game; let's not shoot ourselves in the foot and move the ball backwards.

3. Get Jeremy Shockey the ball!

This guy puts life into this team. Throw Shockey the ball, let him do his dancing and his trash talking, and allow him to pump up the rest of the guys. We can't be flat at any point in this game, and in order to get the team going, we need Shockey to be completely into it. Shockey isn't a very good blocker so Coughlin needs to let him either split out, or run routes over the middle, and let him catch the ball downfield.

4. Play solidly between the ends on defense.

With all of our defensive weapons, the only thing that can and probably will hold the Giants back at some point this season are the defensive tackles. It's important that these guys clog up the middle and allow Strahan, Umenyiora, Pierce, and Arrington to do their damage. Pierce and Arrington will be tied up all game if the big men in the trenches don't hold their ground on the offensive line. Clog the line, prevent Indy from establishing any sort of running game, and let our defense tee up on older brother Peyton.

5. Give the crowd something to cheer about.

Coming off an absolutely embarassing home playoff loss last season, the fans have been craving some sort of redemption. Hey, this isn't the Panthers, but give the fans at least something to cheer about this game. This is the opening weekend, in a matchup of two brothers, featuring two teams with Super Bowl aspirations. The Giants owe it to their fans to get the crowd going early and often, especially after giving their fans not even a moment last game to get excited over. Some say the Giants crowd is relatively tame, but I call shenanigans to that! Opening game is always big, and considering the opponent and the primetime matchup, the crowd will be at full throttle. Let's just hope the Giants give those of us at the game, and at home, something to cheer about.

Health, beyond any doubt, is one of the most important factors for us. Taking care of health is not just about curing various diseases, or even preventing various maladies that might have had an adverse effect on the general health of the people. It is rather the whole and overall planning for making various developmental models and strategic implementations. These plans are not carried out in a micro-developmental way, nor is it only concerned about a particular community or a place. They are taken on a broader prospect. There are various health insurance groups who take care of people's health. They conduct various works through a number of channels, charities, and financial schemes - as well as programs throughout the cit
